This anchor was caught in local fisherman Steve Yeandle's own anchor in the Bristol Channel off Watchet. It is probably about 100 years old and is the type and size that was used by the local sailing ketches.

Hi there, Contains Art in Watchet are embarking on a large Maritime Heritage Project this Autumn. We would love to know more about the anchors of Watchet. Apparently each was recovered in the channel by boats and brought back into the harbour. Do get in touch if you find out anything else about the anchors.
